Faves from the weekend – Originality works best

After watching both ‘The Voice‘ and ‘Britain’s Got Talent‘ at the weekend, I have two clear favourites.

Firstly, BGT. And guess what, my favourite act wasn’t even a British one – typical. Attraction are a group of nine dancers from Hungary whose act was one that I have never seen before. By using a screen and lights, they performed a routine creating the setting for each scene with their bodies. I was mesmerised completely throughout the entire act and couldn’t take my eyes of the TV.

I think it is just hilarious though that the programme is called ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and yet we are not the ones producing the most outstanding performances. Instead we have brooms dressed as Nuns (if you watched the show, you’ll know what I mean). Come on Britain… we need more originality!

‘The Voice’ wasn’t quite as mesmerising, but one girl did grab my attention and had to be the best of the show. Leah McFall from Belfast has one of the most unique voices I’ve heard and knew what she was doing throwing notes here, there and everywhere. It was surprising that only Jessie and Will pressed their buttons and turned around for her.

Those are my faves from Saturday night and I think it’s obvious that originality is the way forward, blowing generic acts straight out of the water.
